Growing up with a chef as a father, Kevin McAfee at an early age was always interested in good food and the kitchen environment. He began his culinary career at the Historic Tides Inn located in Irvington VA in 2001. At the mouth of the Rappahannock rivers entrance to the Chesapeake bay the culinary heritage of the community made a huge impact on the way he looked at food and culture. Kevin later enrolled in the French Culinary Institute in 2007. During his time in New York City,  he took in everything the big city had to offer and staged at Aquavit to continue learning as much as possible about professional kitchens, cuisine and flavors.

Upon graduation, Kevin ventured to Dallas, TX and worked at the 5 star 5 diamond Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek. Working with incredibly talented Michelin starred Chefs John Tesar and Bruno Davaillon, Chef Kevin learned every station and honed the craft of fine dining. “To me this was culinary mecca as so many famous chefs had been through that kitchen- it was the ultimate culinary school”, he said.

Chef Kevin relocated to the Lake of the Ozarks to take on the role of Executive Chef at the Lodge of Four Seasons for 4 years and then in 2019, moved to the tri state area to run the kitchen at the Walpack inn in New Jersey. Now, as the Executive Chef at the Kartrite Resort and Indoor Waterpark, Chef Kevin brings his experience to the Catskills with exciting food and dining experiences. He resides in PA with his wife Angie and son, Marley.
