Catskill Cuisine

Celebrity Chefs Flocking to the Catskills on May 13 — Here’s Why

The first-ever Catskill Cuisine Festival is coming to the Hudson Valley, and it’s going to be a celebrity chef hotspot ripe with mouth-watering eats.

The festival, which takes place on Saturday, May 13 at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts (the historic site of the 1969 Woodstock festival) in the Sullivan Catskills, has confirmed celebrity chefs including Alton Brown, Scott Conant, Alex Guarnaschelli, Marcus Samuelsson and Geoffrey Zakarian.

It’s the perfect Mother’s Day weekend event for food-loving families, promising an immersive blend of cuisine, music, family-friendly entertainment and local support for everything the Catskills have to offer.

Other highlights from the Catskill Cuisine Festival include:

  • Meet and pet alpacas from Buck Brook Alpacas, a family-owned farm in the Catskills (this is enough reason for us to attend, but hey, you do you)
  • Local non-profit, A Single Bite, will also be on hand to teach kids what it means to make healthy food choices
  • Kittatinny Canoes will have a variety of activities such as tube racing, water safety, ring toss, and other family-friendly games.
  • Bethel Woods will have a station where kids can create their own tie-dye using natural pigments from edible plants, and make their own tiles using various kitchen tools and dried flowers, herbs and vegetable embellishments.
